6 years, 9 months...A little bit of everything!

I got very frustrated at school one day and let it all out.  I was mad at Mommy because she never packs candy in my lunch box.  She reminded me that I don't always eat my lunch, but that's beside the point!  I also started to get really frustrated and sad when kids talk in class.  I just want to learn.  Mommy asked if I ever get bored, and I said, "No, I always do what I'm supposed to!"
Mommy took me to an MU volleyball game, and we watched it with Valerie and Carrie.  I got to eat Dippin Dots, which were great, but the best part came after the game.  We stayed so we could get signatures and meet the players.  When we got to Ali Kreklow, I told her that she was my favorite player.  Mommy mentioned something about her getting a restraining order and Ali laughed.  She also asked if we could get a picture with her when we came around the other side of the table.  Not only did she do that, but she remembered me when I got there, and let me sit on her lap!  I was in heaven!
Soccer is over for the fall.  I was a really good hustler, but wouldn't kick the ball when I got there.  I got better at that toward the end of the season.  We have done our weekly soccer practices, but now they are just play dates since soccer is over.
There were so many celebrations for Halloween!  Our family decorated two pumpkins-a cat and a dog, of course!  Cedar Ridge had a chili supper, pumpkin decorating, and costume contest.  I wanted to be a dog for Halloween and the only costume we could find was a Dalmatian.  All of the staff at Cedar Ridge dressed up as Dalmatians, so it just made sense.  Emily was a Dalmatian too!  I was lucky and got a store bought one, while Mommy made hers and Emily's.  We had a lot of fun that night.  I helped hand out water at the chili supper and kept myself busy!  The next week was our class party.  Mommy is the room mom this year.  We made pumpkins out of pumpkin seeds, wrapped our classmates in toilet paper as mummies, played a pumpkin game, and ate yummy goodies!  I only ate one cookie because I was trying to eat healthy.  On Halloween, we went to Nana Arden and Papa Rodney, to Mr. Kenny's, and tried Stan and Kelly's.  We came back to our neighborhood and went to Miss Rachel's, Brian and Cindy's, and Heather and Brad's.  Emily stayed home while I went with Mommy to Bella's house.  Brynn came dressed as a zombie and she scared me so I refused to look at her all night.  I hung out with Blake and Bella.
I had Girl Scouts twice this month too, and Mommy took over selling the fall product.  She didn't want me to have to do that twice in one year.  I'll be ready for Girl Scout cookie time though!
I ran errands with Mommy and Emily one day- to the library, Sams, and HyVee.  The coolest day was when she had a work day.  I went in to work with her in the morning, but then we had a Mommy/Ellie date in the afternoon before picking up Emily.  We went to McDonald's and Orange Leaf, visited Mrs. Sicht at Shepard, and went to get some new clothes at Old Navy.  We miss our alone time together.  The next day was a Mommy/Ellie/Emily day!  We went to the bank, the library, Emily got a flue shot, to the park, and Sams!  What a busy morning!
The next night, our family went to the Humane Society because there was supposed to be a one-year-old female Great Pyrennes/lab/retriever mix there.  Unfortunately, she was getting fixed and must have gotten adopted because she never came back.
Mommy went to TanTarA for her conference and took Emily and me with her after school one Friday night.  Daddy joined us down there the next morning.  We all went shopping at the outlet mall before we went home without Mommy.  We missed her, but had a lot of fun anyway!  Daddy took us shopping at HyVee and Bella's mom took me to Brynn's swimming birthday party.
When Mommy came back, we had my parent teacher conference with Miss Schooler.  She said I am doing great in math, reading, and writing, and especially with my behavior.  She said I was at a level 18, but then tested at a 24 that day.  She is going to start a small reading group on Mondays with me, give me activities during the week over the book, then meet again as a group on Friday.  She is hoping to have me skip a level each week.
This past weekend, we took a trip to Washington.  It has been so long since we had been there!  We went to Grandma Kathy's work, got our hair cut, had dinner with Grandma Rose, played lots of Barbies, and just had fun!  I can't wait to be back for Thanksgiving!
I also lost tooth #7, my top right eye tooth when eating a pear!  Only one more to go before the molars!  The tooth fairy's color was green, and she brought me a dollar.

6 Years, 8 Months...Rocking this school thing!

I got recognized twice this month at school for my behavior!  Mommy started something called the responsibility train for students who do things above and beyond what is expected of them.  I was the first student to get recognized because I organized a class library without being asked. We had an assembly and Daddy came!  Mommy got to call my name too!  That was so cool!  I was also surprised later that month because my music teacher nominated me for Cardinal Club, for students who show good character.  I got to have pizza for lunch in the library with other students, and will be recognized at the next assembly!
I do get sad when kids in my class are too chatty, especially when we have a substitute.  I don't think it is hard to behave, and I really like being a good role model.  Mommy has heard me many times encouraging other kids and checking to make sure they are ok.  I think she is kind of proud of me.
I was also tested for the gifted program (although I didn't know what it was for.)  I really liked seeing Mrs. Cardetti again (who did lessons with us in kindergarten.)  I scored much higher this time and took another, longer test with someone I didn't know.  I really liked the puzzles, pictures, and blocks, but some of the words were hard.  We should find out in about a month.
I really like playing at recess with Gabe, Dylan, Liam, and Boone.  I am on the "boys team" when we play chase and can't wait to go out again.
I went to Girl Scouts a few times this month, and really started to get sad and scared when we left.  We walk as a troop from school over to the church and twice in a row, I cried as I passed Mommy.  She didn't know why the first time and let me stay.  I said I didn't feel well, but I also didn't like how the Brownies and Daisies come together at the end.  I was scared because I didn't know the Brownies.  The second time, I had to go, but Mommy told me that the older kids were all really nice and she asked them to look out for me.  I also really liked the leader who let me walk over with her.  She went to Shepard when she was a kid too!
I have had a couple of soccer games too.  One of them was against my Shepard friend Mattson!  I do a lot of really good hustling to the ball, but get kind of timid when I get there and don't want to kick it.  One day was really busy!  I did the pumpkin run (1.8 miles on a trail around a lake) with Mommy and Emily, had my soccer game (Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom came to watch), went out to Houlihan's, and had Corinne spend the night!  It was so great having Grandma and Grandpa here!  The waitress at Houlihan's said that I was the only kid she ever had who talked to her and that I had very good manners.  What a great compliment!  Corinne and I had fun that night, but she woke me up at 5:00 the next morning and said she could tell time and it was time to get up!  I was super crabby and tired that day.  I took a 2 hour nap and was still exhausted!  We went to Catherine's birthday party later that afternoon.
We didn't have school one day but Mommy still had meetings, so I got to hang out with Nana Arden!  We may or may not have gone to Orange Leaf and I may have gotten wedding cake frozen yogurt!
We have been having our play dates too.  Mommy had a meeting one night and we skipped one week.  I was really sad, but the next week it was at our house.  I have also gotten mad at Mommy several times because she doesn't pack candy in my lunch box.  I think it's because she doesn't love me, but she says it's because she wants me to eat healthy.  Whatever!
Mommy took me to another Mizzou game and it was a lot of fun.  I cheered so loud, the cheerleaders gave me a box of free popcorn!
Our class went on a field trip this month.  We walked to the fire station across the street for fire prevention week.  We read books, listened to firefighters talk about their jobs, and made a fire truck snack that we got to eat!
Our family also went to Mommy's friend Jeanine's wedding.  It was my first wedding ever!  It was outside on a firetruck in the park.  It was really pretty, and I kept waving at the bride.  She smiled at me and told me later that it made her day!  I didn't want to leave, but it was a Sunday night and I had school the next day.  I missed out on the cake!

It's so cool having my cousin Corinne on my team!
