6 Years, 11 Months...Christmas fun

Our Christmas celebrations started off with our class party.  Mommy was our room parent.  We played some fun games like Don't Eat the Reindeer, Roll a Snowman, and Do You Hear What I Hear?  We also made a Christmas tree ornament out of paint chips which I helped get them ready.
Before our other Christmases started, we celebrated Nana Arden's birthday at her house with Shakespeare's Pizza.
I got my first Christmas present a little early.  Mommy and I had a date and she took me to get my ears pierced.  I was very startled by the noise and also didn't know the earrings were going to go straight into my ear.  I thought they were going to put them in later.  But, I was very happy with them.  They are turquoise flowers and are very pretty!  We went out for Orange Leaf after to celebrate.  Wedding cake with rock candy is my favorite.  We also went to the Humane Society to look at dogs and cats.  Later that night, I had a Daddy-daughter date at an MU women's basketball game.  I got Dippin Dots here.  I am all about the sweets!
The next day, we made a visit to Mr. Kenny's.  He put up Miss Annie's Christmas village.  It was so beautiful!  She would have been proud.  Too bad we didn't think to take a picture of it.
The Christmas celebrations then started.  We had our family Christmas on the 23rd.  Santa brought me an American Girl doll with a dog and dog pj's.  I gave Emily a book and some of my old Little People princesses.  She gave me a stuffed Everest dog from Paw Patrol.  I was so excited when I found the package that I didn't even let Emily give it to me!  The next day we went to Washington to celebrate with Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom, and the next day to Grandma Rose's and Papa Ron and Nana Carol's. We had a day at home to rest and play and then went to Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's.
Corinne got to spend the night the next night.  We always have a good time together.  I love how we get along so well.  We also had a nice visit with Stacey, Jaxson, and Harrison before the new year.
The next day was pretty exciting.  We took down the Christmas decorations early so we could bring up Mommy's old desk for me.  Now, Emily has my old desk and I have a big girl desk!  It is only temporary because I will probably get a different one when we get new furniture for my room.
We had several play dates over the past month.  We have been getting along so well lately!  No more fighting and tears and jealousy.  Everyone is a lot happier.  I think we are growing up!  Mommy and I went to a New Year's Eve party at Brynn's.  It was so much fun!  We played downstairs, watched a movie, and had sparkling grape juice at "midnight".
Auntie Heather, Uncle Sean, Ashley, and Ian came for a visit too after the new year.  Ashley, Ian, and I practiced to put on a show for everyone.
Before going back to school, Papa Rodney, Nana Arden, some of my cousins and our family went to another MU women's basketball game.  I was really excited to get back to school and learn more!  My New Year's resolutions are to learn about the brain (which Mommy is teaching about in counseling!) and to spend more time with my family and not go in my room as much.
I started selling Girl Scout cookies too.  My goal is to sell 80 boxes, but that might be hard because some of my customers from last year are not able to buy.  I know I will get some patches though.
When Mommy and I were in a parking lot, she grabbed my hand.  When I asked why, she said, "They are backing up and can't see you.  I'm taller than you are."  I said back to her, "Soon I'll have to hold your hand!"
I am only one month away from turning 7 and I am soooo excited!

6 Years, 10 Months...Family Holiday Fun!

We had a lot of family fun this month!  Daddy took me to watch one of Jacob's basketball games.  Our whole family went to Barnes and Noble for a fund raiser for North Callaway.  I enjoyed seeing the Thunderbird and looking at all the books.  Speaking of books, I am starting to read more picture books than chapter books lately.  I really missed the pictures.  We also ran a lot of family errands one day, including looking at a new bed for me!  The one I like is a loft bed with drawers and shelves under it.  I think I am ready for a more big girl room. We also got to go to one last Mizzou volleyball game.  Good thing Ali Kreklow is only a sophomore and has 2 more years left!
We have continued with our play dates, although they don't always end very well.  Brynn and I usually end up in an argument the last 15 minutes because we are both pretty head-strong.  I get my feelings hurt really easily and she does too.  We always make up, but we also stay about 1/2 hour later than intended as we try to work out the problem.  On one play date, we made blessing bags to hand out to homeless people instead of giving each other gifts.  It sure felt good handing out that first one!
We had Grandparents Day at school right before Thanksgiving.  Nana Arden came and I got to do some crafts with her.  All the classes performed too and we sang a song and recited a poem about grandparents.  Then, we got to speak and I said, "When I am a grandparent, I am going to snuggle my grand-kids."
We got to celebrate 3 Thanksgivings!  We went to Washington and went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's and then to Papa Ron and Nana Carol's the next day.  They had to reschedule the holiday parade because it was raining, so we missed it this year.  Good thing because Emily puked in the car riding back!  We put up Christmas decorations the next day and had Thanksgiving at Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's that Sunday.  Elmo the Elf returned that night!  I was so excited to see him, and I love to search the house for him every morning!
We had our Girl Scout holiday party and made several crafts, gifts, and cookies.  It was a lot of fun.  Our family also went to visit Santa.  I asked him for an American Girl doll with a dog and a Pentatonix CD.  I am obsessed with them!  Emily asked for a "doggie".  I promise I did not put her up to that!
One Saturday, I helped Mommy do the last of our Christmas shopping.  It was a long day and we made at least 8 stops!  I was a trooper, but I sure was tired after that.  However, I really helping Mommy wrap the presents until pretty late that night!
I also went to Gabe's birthday party.  I was really nervous because I thought I might be the only girl there, and I didn't know how to play basketball.  I'm glad Mommy had me go because I had a lot of fun.  We played dodge ball, soccer, and basketball.  And my new BFF Ella was there so we got to play together!
I lost my last eye tooth (the top left one) and my tooth fairy was green this time.  I also got a yucky cold this month.  It wasn't a lot of fun.  Daddy has been gone a lot for work a lot this past month and Mommy had to leave one night for a meeting.  It will be nice to have a break with the whole family!
