11 Years, 5 Months...Braces, float trip, and VOLLEYBALL!!!!

I started this month with a dentist appointment, and then got my second set of braces!  My mouth was a little sore for a couple of days, but I am used to them now.  Don't get me wrong, I'm ready for them to come off!  Only 9-10 more months!
I got to hang out with friends a few times this month.  Lila and Taylor came over here once, and Lila and I have been to each other's houses.  I went over to Lila's the day Hamilton came out on Disney Plus to watch it.  Lila is obsessed, and I thought it was ok.
We took a trip to Washington for Father's Day.  I really miss my grandparents a lot!  We went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's first and had a yummy hot dog lunch.  A neighboring cat came right over to us and I named her Nala.  It was really hard to leave and not give hugs.  We went to Papa Ron's after that.  Minutes after getting there, it started raining!  We visited while trying to stay dry (therefore, no pictures were taken.)  The next day, Nana Arden, Papa Rodney, Aunt Lisa and family came over for a backyard BBQ and volleyball fun.  The Fajen's came another time to play because it was so much fun.  I'm looking forward to seeing my grandparents more often and giving hugs!
I worked hard on making a "Pokemon party" for Emily with decorations, food, and movies.  I also planned a picnic date for Mom and Dad.  It didn't go exactly as I had planned and that is really hard for me, so I think I am not going to do those anymore.  We did 4th of July at our house again.  It was a beautiful night with a full moon and of course we enjoyed 'smores!
Our family attempted a float trip with Auntie Heather and family and drove 2 1/2 hours, only to have thunderstorms when we got there.  We ended up taking a rain check and stopped at Central Dairy on the way back.  We got to make it up a couple of weeks later!  I had a blast walking in the water and wading in the current with Ashley.
The rest of the month was all about volleyball.  Jacob came over once to work with me on the things Molly taught me.  I have started doing weekly lessons with Trevor because Molly had to stop.  He is having me work on blocking, passing, and has made an adjustment to my hitting to be more efficient.  I love working with him and have learned so much!  I was so excited to show it off during positionals, open gyms, and tryouts!  However, official tryouts never happened.  The organization cancelled them so they offered positions on teams based on what they already saw.  On the first day, Mom got a call at 8:00 AM on the dot from Club CoMo offering me a position!  37 minutes later, I got an offer to be on the 12-1 team for Missouri Juniors!  I was Coach Colleen's first call.  This is where my heart is and I can't wait to start.  (Actually, I just really hope we get to play.)  Mom was really proud of me for asking to talk with the Club CoMo coach to turn down the offer.  I did find out a couple of my friends will be playing for a different team and I am really sad about that.

11 1/3 Years...Getting out a little more

School officially ended on May 21st.  It was a very anticlimactic experience.  After missing the last quarter of my 5th grade year, there wasn't much else to do.  I went to school to get "last day of school' pictures taken.  I'm really glad Mr. Higgins was there and was able to give me my certificate.  I really miss him and my friends.  Off to middle school!
I have been able to see my friends a bit.  I went over to Madelyn's house and she came here once to play outside for a few hours.  Lila has also come over here and I went to Corinne's once.  It just isn't the same.  Lila was baptized this month and other than immediate family and grandparents, I was her only guest.  It was quite an honor and I was really nervous going into the church.  Our family went over to Lila's house afterwards for an outdoor BBQ party to celebrate her and it was really good to hang out with her and Olga.
Mom took Emily and me to Washington to meet up with Auntie Heather and family to walk at the riverfront.  It was a nice day and good to be somewhere else.
I have also done a few volleyball things too.  I've gone to multiple positional opportunities, we had one open gym, and I even had a private lesson with Molly Taylor!  I'm getting a lot better at jumping to attack and putting spin on the ball.  I'm looking forward to learning more this summer before try-outs!
I also had an orthodontist appointment and I am ready for braces!  Other than that, our family has been doing a lot of walks, bike rides, board games, and reading.  Looking forward to more interaction next month!
Lots of walks at Stephen's Lake and in our neighborhood

11 1/4 Months...Still missing my friends...

Instead of volleyball, I have tried other things to keep in shape.  I used my Amazon gift card money to buy a volleyball trainer for the basketball goal.  I also decided to go on walks more with Dad and doing workouts with him.  I feel closer to him now for sure.  I am not as close with Mom though.
Mom dyed Emily's hair with Kool-Aid, and I finally decided to let her do mine.  I chose red on the ends, and it is very subtle and almost gone.  I'm really glad because I like my regular hair color better.
I have been continuing with my Monday night cooking, and have enjoyed making meals and sharing them with Mrs. Tatlow.
I've done a lot of Zooms and FaceTimes with my friends, but it just isn't the same as getting together with them.  I got to do a birthday parade for Ella's birthday and it was so good to briefly see some of my friends.  We had a little time before dong our Wal-Mart pick-up, so we went to hang out in Lila's driveway.  That put a smile on my face for days!  I can't wait to do that again.
