30 Months...Big girl bed and pre-school, what's next?

This has been such a fun month of growing up! I have become very opinionated about things. I love to say, "I no like this!" and when mommy asks for a hug or kiss, I like to just smile and say, "No thank you!" I also learned about the "Why?" question and like to test it out a lot. I love to play tag and hide and seek, so I can say, "You startled me" and "Boo!" Mommy thinks it is funny that I sometimes call spider webs "web spiders". I also discovered my favorite color: "oranshes!" (orange)
I threw a HUGE temper tantrum at the library, including spitting and taking off my shoes and throwing them at mommy. I just had to let off some steam. I felt much better after that. As challenging as I can be, I can also be very sweet. Most of the time, I pick up my toys without being asked to. I am very concerned about any mess I make, and like to help clean up. I even tried to clean up the bubble solution at The Little Gym!
I finished my last classes at Tumble Bees and The Little Gym. They were a lot of fun. I hope I can do that again next summer. Mommy took me to her work a couple of times, and I had so much fun there that I didn't want to leave.
I was sick a little bit this month too. I had a fever for a week, and about two weeks later, I had diarrhea and threw up all over the place. That was a bummer, but I was such a trooper and didn't act really sick at all.
We visited lots of people too this month. I got to see two of Mommy's friends and their therapy dogs: Rachel and Kramer, and Jill and Crosley. I talked about them for a long time. Aunt Michelle came for a visit, and she read me LOTS of books! Mommy took me to her hometown again, and I got to see lots of family. I played in the pool with Alex and Chase at Nana Carol and Papa Ron's. We went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's too. I had a lot of fun seeing my great-grandparents. Then, we went to see Heather, Sean, Ashley, and Baby Ian. They are a lot of fun! Grandma Kathy also came for a visit and stayed with us for a night. We all went to visit my pre-school and to see Miss Annie and Mr. Kenny.
I have been waiting all summer to move into a new room and get my big girl bed/furniture. It finally came in, right before I went to pre-school. I slept in it for a nap that day and loved it! I told Mommy that I didn't want to sleep in my crib anymore. Mommy and Daddy have a rule that I have to lay or sit down on my big girl bed, and I have to ask to get out of bed. I added a new rule: go on the potty chair before sleeping in it. I came up with that all by myself!
Daddy went back to work a couple weeks ago, and when Mommy went to work today, I got to go to "pee-schoo" (pre-school!) I was really excited to play and read books. I gave mommy a hug and kiss and smile when she left and I was on my way. I had a great day playing with my old friend Trey-Bug. It took me a while to nap, but I finally fell asleep. I can't wait for tomorrow!

29 Months...One month til preschool!

This was another busy month! We did so many different things, and I hope I have pictures to show all of it! I went to The Little Gym and TumbleBees a lot. Here I am walking on the balance beam:

I also went to Grant's Farm with Nana Carol, Papa Ron, Uncle Mark, Aunt Julie, Chase and Alex. Here we are with some ponies: I got to feed the goats there, but they jumped up on me. Attack of the baby goats! Save me, mommy! Finally safe! I absolutely LOVED the carousel. Daddy took me on it once, and then after the torrential downpour, we waited there. Since we waited so long, the man gave me 2 rides! I squealed! Drenched with mommy after the downpour, oh yeah, with a Clydesdale! I was exhausted when we got back. Here is the one and only time I fell asleep in a place other than my crib or carseat. Thanks Daddy! I also got my haircut while I was in mommy's hometown. Here is the before shot: During... Are we all done yet? Patiently waiting... The finished product! I went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's too, and played on the big slide. Here I am climbing with a little boost: I'm up here, now what? The first time down was really slow because there was no water. The second time was into cold water...OK, I'm done! I played a lot with my cousins too. Here we are plotting our game: Playing Red Rover! After this, mommy left for a trip and I got to hang out with daddy. I amazed him when I remembered that we couldn't play on the grass because they put "chemicals" on it! I also love to have mommy and daddy "sing me a story" at night! By the way, I did NOT really drive this car! I had a screening with Parents as Teachers and did great! The only thing I scored low on was problem-solving, and that is because I don't drag a chair over when I want to get something out of my reach. That's only because mommy and daddy won't let me! I really enjoy pretending. Here I am pretending to be Elton John:
Mommy watched a friend's daughter one day who is about my age. Brynn and I liked playing different things, but Play Doh is one thing we agreed on! Mommy and Daddy took me to the Humane Society to look at animals. We got to play with a doggie named Sophie, but she was so excited, she knocked me down on my bottom! We went to Aunt Jenny and Uncle Steve's for the Third of July. I loved playing with my cousins, especially singing with Hadley. I was scared of the noises that the firecrackers made. When I talk about it, I do the sound effects and clap really loud! I went to Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's for the Fourth of July. I got to run in the sprinklers and even hit a wiffle ball off a tee! I did lots of reading this summer and got a free book from the library. I got to go to the splash park too, and was glad because the cicadas are all dead! I love to play hide and seek, and Mommy says I am pretty good at it. But sometimes, I just need some rest time with Bumble Bee Pillow Pet! Last week, we took a trip to Nebraska for Papa Rodney's family reunion. It was the first and second time Mommy got to take me to McDonalds. Jacob rode in the car with me for a little ways and we had so much fun! I got to ride with my cousins Catherine and Camille too, at different times on the trip. We loved to sing and tell stories.
It was a long ride through Kansas to Nebraska! When we got there, we went swimming in the hotel pool. We went to Uncle Bill's house and had a lot of fun running around chasing each other. I loved their dogs, Digger and Bunny. I had a lot of fun throwing ice at mommy like all the other kids were doing, and cheered them on when they went down the water slide. We got a tour of the Nebraska Cornhuskers stadium. Daddy didn't seem too thrilled, but still wanted to go. Here are some of the cousins and extended cousins: We even got to run on the field! I chased Mommy and Camille! I ran at least 4 times down the length of the field, and always stretched my arms up high to yell "touchdown" when I made it to the other end! Mid-stance
We got to swim in the hotel pool again before leaving. We stopped in Kansas City to see Uncle Kevin on the ride home. He bought me an ice cream cone! I think my cousin Corinne shared her sickness with me and I wasn't feeling the greatest. It was a long ride on the way home too! We looked for big girl beds when we got back and ordered furniture. I can't wait for it to be ready for me! In the meantime, I decided to bury daddy under all of my stuffed animals! Mommy took me to storytime at the library, and out to eat with two of her friends and their girls my age after The Little Gym. I made up a new rule to Red Light, Green Light. It's called "Yellow Light-walk!" I hung out with Nana Arden while mommy and daddy went out in the afternoon on Mommy's birthday. She painted my toenails too for a special treat! I'll get my fingernails painted when I stop sucking my thumb. I got to meet mommy's friend Rachel's dog Kramer too. It's been really hot outside, so now, my hair is long enough for pigtails!
