3 1/2 Years...Having fun and growing up!

I did some very big girl kind of things this month! I started using spit out toothpaste, and tried to stop sucking my thumb using a thumb guard. I had to wear it all the time and it was hard to do. Mommy and daddy found me sucking my other thumb, so they put another thumb guard on that thumb, and then I started to suck my fingers. We decided this wasn't the right time to try and quit. I had my first play date that I chose. I got to bring my friend Brynn to The Little Gym after she played at my house. We went out for lunch and ice cream after. It was so much fun, we got together that weekend at the park, and again at the spray park a couple weeks later! She's my BFF! I took swimming lessons and learned how to blow bubbles, kick and float. Miss Abby said I did great, but I didn't really like getting my face in the water.
I had several family visits too this month before mommy went back to work. Papa Ron and Nana Carol came up to visit for mommy's birthday. Mommy and I went to Washington for visits too. I swam in Papa Ron's big pool with my cousin Chase and had a fun time. I visited Grandma Kathy and got my hair cut. We also went out to Great-grandma Rose's and then out to Dairy Queen! Later that week, we got together for Aunt Lisa's birthday at Nana Arden's. I went swimming with my cousins and swam at least 5 times up and down the pool with my life jacket on! I just needed my older cousins there to show me I could. I spent one evening with Nana Arden when mommy and daddy were both at work.
When mommy tells me she loves me, I tell her, "I know. I wrote it on my heart." I can also sing "You Are My Sunshine" and mommy loves it! My favorite color changes every day now, but during the Olympics, my favorites were gold and silver, and I kept shouting, "Let's go American states!"
Mommy and daddy are both back at work now, so I am back at pre-school full time. What a great summer!

3 Years, 5 Months...Sickness and vacation!

I was able to go to a cheerleading camp this month, and it was so much fun! I loved learning the cheers and doing the stunts. I also went to a bird show with Nana Carol and Papa Ron and Chase. It was really hot, and the highlight was when the one bird flew around the building! I also went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's, and Aunt Lisa's, all for Father's Day! After that, I had a high fever that got up to 104 degrees one night! Mommy and daddy came into the room to sponge me down, and I just laid there and said, "Are you going to be done soon?" The fever when away, but then came back, so I went to the doctor. He said I had bronchitis, and I had my first ever round of anti-biotics! Mommy left for a conference the next week and I had a blast with daddy. I went swimming with my pre-school class and got really scared when I went under the water after going down a slide. I also got sunburned that day. The next day, I went on vacation! We went with Auntie Heather, Uncle Sean, Ashley, and Ian to Holiday World in Indiana. I loved the kiddie rides in the Christmas section, especially the sleigh ride and the bumper boats, and the "fishie ride" (Salmon Run.) I rode my first kiddie roller coaster and screamed! It was so fast and scary! I was very afraid of things here-the dark, loud noises, ghosts, going underwater, the kiddie slide in the water section of the park. Daddy got my fever when we were there and couldn't come with us the 2nd day, so mommy took me and we had "ice cream for dinner, and a taco for dessert!" I was very animated when I explained vacation to other people, using a lot of hand gestures. Some of the other cute things I have said this month: "milkers" or "sqeezers" (a cow's utters), "Mommy, your bottom is getting bigger!", showing her how big with my hands (she didn't think that was very "cute" though), "Papa Bear Smurf", "pamma trees" (palm trees), "Is that a plan of action? I also started calling for mommy and dady at bedtime and when they didn't come, I screamed, "This is ridiculous!" Shortly after vacation, I started peeing frequently (every 5 minutes.) Mommy and daddy took me back to the doctor, and he thought I had a UTI. My 2nd round of anti-biotoics! I am a lot better now. Grandma Kathy decided to come up for a surprise visit and I loved having her here! I also went to the dentist this month. I like the water sprayer and the sucker thing, but not the tooth scraper and polisher. He said my 20 teeth look good, like princess teeth. He wants me to keep my princess teeth and I need to stop sucking my thumb. That is going to be hard. I went to my first pre-school screening too! I did very well, and was in the 98%ile for verbal, 96%ile for concepts, and 69%ile for motor. Not too bad! Mommy went to visit friends for her birthday, so I had a blast again with daddy. I was really, really good for him. I got to watch Horton Hears a Who at home when mommy came home and loved it! I have a feeling this next month is going to be busy too!

3 Years, 4 Months...Pre-school graduation!

I graduated from Pre-School this month! I have been excited about this for a long time! That same day, my friend Brynn bit me on my cheek, but I didn't mind. She's still my BFF, along with Trey! The next week, I moved up into Sam and Jodi's classroom! I am going to learn to write my letters and my name! I had such a good time my first day that I didn't want to come home and wanted to go back every day since, even though mommy and daddy are off for the summer!

I have said so many grown-up things lately: before a story, "Listen to this!"; "I'm having a bad day for bonking myself"; after hitting a baseball, "I got a piece of it!"; "Let's have a talk mommy"; "What minute is it?"; after my toy got fixed, "Good as new!"; asking lots of "what would happen if..." questions like "What would happen if we didn't have any food?" or "there were no trees?" or "we didn't have anything in our houses?" Sometimes mommy and daddy don't have answers for me.

We have done a lot of fun things lately too. We went to Family Fun Fest downtown and watched people dance and I got to walk on a balance beam. Mommy took me to her school's Fine Arts Festival and I got to see a concert and big kids do crafts. I went to the splash park for the last time with Brynn and Libby. They are moving to Pennsylvania, and I asked if we could move there too! I did get sick with a fever at pre-school one day and mommy came to get me. We watched movies and ate popsicles! I went to Nana Arden's the next day. I've also been having lots of accidents lately. We checked out books at the library and I got my very own library card! I got to hang out a lot with my cousins and play in the sprinkler and even a water slide! I also got to go to a parade. The horses were my favorite, and I didn't like how loud the drums were. We went to Messy Time and the library and I got to play in a lot of food and water. We went to mommy's friend Lillian's shaved ice store. I want to work there when I grow up! I went to The Little Gym for gymnastics, dance, and a cheerleading camp. I'll get to decide what I want to do soon, but they were all fun!

I love playing in water! It's a good way to get a fever down too!
