6 Years, 7 Months...School is off to a great start!

I finally got to start 1st grade at Cedar Ridge Elementary, Mommy and my new school!  I was so excited for that first day and I completely LOVE it!  I was chosen to be teacher's helper, a role I adore.  Cedar Ridge has kindergarten and 1st grade together, 2nd and 3rd grade together, and 4th and 5th grade together.  Our class is very large with 3 sections.  I had 32 kids in my math class and my reading class was not much better.  I did coloring sheets and watched videos the first couple of weeks until we were allowed to have another section added.  I still have my same teachers, but my classes are a lot smaller.  I think I will be able to learn a lot more now.
The reading teacher tested me and gave Mommy the results.  Mrs. Sicht told Mommy and Daddy that I was reading at a level 4 which surprised them since I am already reading some chapter books by myself.  Well, Mrs. Hays tested me at a level 24 and stopped there!  That is late 2nd grade, and the highest in my class (although that has been kept a secret from me.)  I just love to read so much!  I'm really enjoying math too.  I love homework and wish they would give me more!
We had an ice cream social at Cedar Ridge already this year and I really enjoyed showing off our new school to Daddy. We also already did school pictures.  Mommy is trying really hard to have me treated like every other kid at school and not have special treatment since she is there.  However, she ate with all new students first in her office and since I am new, that included me!
I also joined Girl Scouts again this year.  I am in a different troop, with girls from my new school.  There are only 4 Daisies in my troop and I really enjoy it.  We meet every other Wednesday after school until 5:00 which is a lot different than my old troop.
I had a sleepover with Bella at her house and at my house this month.  We had a really good time, aside from a few minor spats.  However, we discovered that not only can Bella and I not sleep in the same bed, we can't sleep in the same room!  At Bella's house, I kept rolling over on top of her.  She didn't like that very much.  She ended up sleeping in her parents' bed after her mom sat in her room with me until I fell asleep.  At my house, Bella said I made too much noise and rolled over too much.  We finally fell asleep after Mommy laid on the floor with Bella.  Those were some late nights!
We had a play date at my house the afternoon/evening after the first day of school.  That sounded like a good idea at the time, to hear how everyone's first day was, but everyone ended up in tears!  The next 3 play dates went better, and we even started soccer practice again.  Get this-Bella, Brynn, and Corinne are on my soccer team-Team Brazil!  I scored two goals in my first game!  This is going to be a great year!
I had so many birthday parties this month too-Carrie's at Flipz, Ashley's at an indoor pool, Corinne's at her house (all the same weekend!), and Riley's at a hotel for a tea party.  It had been a long time since I saw Riley!
We had a fun visit from Aunt Heather, Uncle Sean, Ashley, and Ian.  I had a lot of fun with them, especially making videos on Ashley's school iPad.  Ashley really likes babies and spent a lot of time with Emily, and I felt a little left out. We also had dinner at Nana Arden's over Labor Day weekend.
I also got to have some extra time with Mommy this month.  We ran some errands and went to a Mizzou volleyball game again.  I also get to spend some alone time in her office and in the car with her.  We have both missed that time!
Mommy took Emily and me to North Callaway for their homecoming parade.  It was a lot of fun, and I got so much candy!  Being the principal's daughter has its perks!
Another change is that I spend a lot of time in my room.  Sometimes I am reading, but a lot of the time I am cleaning out my room.  I have given most of my toys to Emily because I am "over My Little Ponies" and I want my room to be neater without so much stuff in it.  In fact, I said all I want for Christmas and my birthday is my ears pierced and earrings.  I'm growing up so fast!
Funny thing I said this month-"I have the chicken pox-I'm cold!"  (I think I meant the goose bumps!)
I absolutely love my sister!
And I think she loves me too!

6 1/2 Years Old...Tons of vacation time!

What an incredibly fun month! We started off with a garage sale with Marion at our house.  I had so much fun helping and setting things out, and running my Lemonade Stand.  I made $9.85!  A lot of people gave me tips and donations.  I just really liked being a part of it.
We went to Great-Grandma Rose's for a family get together.  I haven't seen a lot of those people in a long, long time!
Mommy introduced me to The Monkees!  I have become a huge fan!  I love to listen to their music in the car and can even sing along to a lot of it, and Mommy and I watch old episodes of their show on her iPad.  I have Monkee Fever!
Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Six Flags (after getting my hair cut).  I had a blast there!  I went right on the Log Flume with no complaints and asked to go again.  Since it was on a cooler Wednesday right when they opened, the lines weren't too long.  We also got soaked on the Thunder River!  My favorite was the wave pool in the water park.  I loved pretending to be a dolphin.  Mommy had a hard time getting me out of the water.  Before riding the Colossus (giant ferris wheel), I kept saying I didn't want to ride it, they couldn't make me, and I was NOT going to get on it!  Less than a minute into the ride, I asked if we could ride it again!  I also really liked the Shazam! (like the Scrambler).  Mommy wished she could have recorded my screams and giggles to always remember them!  I had such a positive attitude the whole day.
The next day was the St. Louis Zoo for the whole family.  I had such a good time, even though I was exhausted from the day before!  I loved seeing my favorite, the elephants!  I also got my first Build a Bear-an elephant of course!  I named him Cuddles and I love to cuddle with him.  The day wasn't over when we got back home.  We went out to eat at Hu Hot and then went to Bonkers!  They were having an MU volleyball gathering.  I got to meet some players, and ended up winning an autographed shirt!  I can't wait for the season to start!
My friends and I had a pool party at Emma's house.  We had so much fun, and I was so brave swimming on the deep end with no problems!  Mommy took Emily and me to get her car serviced and we had a lot of fun there.
We have continued with our play dates.  We had two at Bella's, one at our house and played in the sprinklers, and skipped the one at Brynn's to have a sleepover.  I was so excited, but ended up having an on and off fever all week.  I had a really bad headache and ended up with a rash.  I think I got it from my cousins at the lake.  Emily got the rash even worse than I did, but my fever lasted much longer.  I was so disappointed to miss out on the sleepover.
I am now only using a booster seat in the car.  I feel like a really big girl, although I do miss the five point harness.  I miss that I can't "scrunch", plus that helped me not have to pee!
Our big vacation this summer was a trip to Beaver Lake in Arkansas at Uncle Dave and Aunt Marge's house.  We celebrated Papa Rick's 70th birthday, and I got to meet two of my uncles, Davey and Sammy!  I loved Davey's girlfriend Jordan and hung around her most of the time.  We had a big celebration at a restaurant and I was really sad when I couldn't sit next to her.  I needed some time to calm down, and when I came back, I was sitting next to her!  It was so much fun seeing everyone and playing in the lake with my cousins.  I went inner-tubing, kayaking with Mommy, played on a Lily Pad, and rode in a boat.  On the way back, I said, Aunt Lisa has 5 kids.  We need to catch up!"  I read my Rainbow Fairy chapter books most of the way there and back.
Before going to Arkansas, we dropped Twist off at the vet.  He got declawed while we were gone and everyone there loved him!  He did so well, and I was really glad to have him back home.  Unfortunately, Daddy had to go back to work that day too.  Mommy, Emily and I went to the spray park and got ice cream one day, visited Mr. Kenny and went to the Kids on Track finale another day (in between the fever.)  We did get to go to Orange Leaf too!
Mommy is starting back at work, and I was able to go with her two of the days to help.  I really like helping. We went out to McDonald's the first day and then to Lillian's after.  I got to play with the other counselors' kids while they talked. I was supposed to go to Nana Arden's the third day, but the principal asked if I would help dog-sit her daughter's dog that morning at the school!  I was so excited and felt so important!  She even paid me, even though she didn't have to.
Emily started at Bruna's and I have been there a couple times to help drop her off.  It makes me sad when she cries and I do miss her.
I spent a lot of time with Nana Arden this month too.  I got my share of McDonald's again, went to the mud room and Orange Leaf (yum!), and went swimming with my cousins.  We went to the North Callaway Fall Sports Kick-Off to watch volleyball and football.
I am nervous and excited about school starting.  It's coming soon!
