8 Years, 1 Month...Emotional times!

This month, I got to start EEE!!!  I was able to get my first choice of classes for my Major-King Tut!  I am thoroughly enjoying learning about archeology and ancient times.  My minor class is Colors, which is also a lot of fun.  I love my teachers, and have friends in all my classes.
We got to have our make up family party too.  It was nice to spread it out.  I enjoyed having everyone over for our birthdays.  Emily and I shared a birthday cake and had our "E" candles to blow out.  During Emily's well-check appointment, I got my weight and height measured as well.  I am 64.2 pounds, and 4' 4 1/2" tall.
Mom is doing the Leader in Me group with 1st graders again and since I did it last year, I get to help her out.  I really enjoy being her helper!  We got to go on the STEAM bus this month too at school, and were able to make our own video game!
I had Girl Scouts a couple of times too.  Miss Sam (one of our leaders) left in an upset way and said, "I hope to see you girls again sometime."  I was very confused and upset by this.  I don't understand why some people leave my life, and I get very emotional about it.
We got to have a play date again at Bella's.  It was nice to see everyone, but I decided to not do the performance with everyone because I decided I had stage fright.  I have been watching Austin and Ally lately, a show about a teenage boy and girl who write music and sing.  I have written two of my own songs-"The Tower of Doom" and "Frankenstein".  Our music teacher really thinks this is cool and is encouraging me to perform it at a concert someday!
I got to spend one Saturday afternoon clothes shopping with Mom.  She calls me a "fashionista".  I just am really getting into finding my own style.  We also went to Jacob's birthday party and I got to play with Corinne.
One Saturday was really busy!  Daddy took me to the library and I picked out a lot of archeology books.  Then, our family took a trip to Hermann to the winery to eat lunch and then play at the park with the Moenkhoff's.  We got to exchange our Christmas/birthday gifts (finally!)  When we got back, Ella invited me to Sonic and we met them there.  They took me to their house for a play date/sleepover.  Ella and I ended up getting into a fight and working it out with Miss Laura.  According to Laura, I am an assertive leader, and Ella is passive and doesn't always speak her mind.  She finally got tired of me making all the decisions.  Mom and Dad and I talked about this when I got back and I know I have some things to work on when it comes to being a leader.  I need to make sure everyone's voice it heard.  I have been pretty emotional lately (sad, mad, and everything in between) and am just trying to assert my independence at home.  That doesn't always go over so well.

8 Years Old...So many things to celebrate!!!

There were so many fun things that happened this month!
I got to go to a play date without Emily because I was at Girl Scouts and Daddy picked her up.  I love my sister, but I really do enjoy having time without her!  I was invited to go to the MU gymnastics meet with Madelyn, her mom, and step-sister Lydia.  We went to Shakespeare's first and I got a gum ball.  It was the best thing ever!
We had a fun family day that started with errands-to the bank to use the coin counter, then the library, and finally to Cosmo park!  The weather has been so nice for it being winter!  Then, we played Candyland as a family.  Emily and my favorite game to play at home is "Mommy's a Dragon!"  Basically, we run around and Mommy has to stay on her hands and knees on the carpet trying to catch us. We went to visit Nana Arden and Papa Rodney one weekend morning for a change in scenery and I got to hang out with Corinne who was there.
Mommy challenged the school to raise $500 in honor of a student who has cancer and we raised more than $600.  We had an assembly and she got over 12 inches of her hair cut off.  I was so scared, but was surprised when Nana Arden, Grandma Kathy, Grandpa Tom, and Daddy showed up to support her at the school!
On a school workday, I helped Mommy a lot at school and got all her work done, so we got to have an afternoon to ourselves!  We went to Party City for my birthday party gifts, McDonald's, PetSmart, Old Navy, and Kohl's.  Mommy couldn't believe how grown up I looked in my new clothes.  I wear a size 10 in pants because I have gotten so tall!
I cracked Mom up one morning in the car.  She said that she forgot to put on her wedding ring.  I said, "That's OK.  A lot of boys will be attractive to you.  That won't be too bad.  You are really pretty."
Mom took me to family math night at school and was able to be a parent instead of working at it.  We had a lot of fun and I enjoyed having her attention and being around friends.  She and Daddy also had an MMSCA meeting in Fulton and Mommy took me and Emily for a little bit to honor her coordinator Susan who was receiving an award.  It was really nice to see all their friends who have known me since before I was born!  Our class went on a field trip to the planetarium.  That is what I chose to do my writing prompt on that we shared at parent teacher conferences.
I had a fantastic conference!  Mrs. Gross and Miss K (our student teacher) had a lot of nice things to say about me.  They said I was a really deep thinker about the books we read and ask good questions.  I often join in other book clubs just to learn what they are studying.  I love that I sit close to the table so I can listen in!  Miss Garmon said that I am doing such a great job keeping up in 3rd grade math. I am in the 98 %ile in reading and math. They also said that I am a good friend to everyone and a great role model.  I am very excited that I will be joining EEE later this month!
There were a lot of parties too this month.  We celebrated Bella's birthday at Flipz, had a Valentine's Day party at our school and Emily's, and of course, my birthday!  I brought donuts for the class this year.  We had to reschedule our family birthday party because Mommy and Emily got the flu, but we still had my friend birthday party!
Mommy and I also did a lot of birthday party planning this month.  I had a Dog party at home on the 19th after changing my mind multiple times.  We planned so many fun games and activities centered around dogs.  The best was the scavenger hunt and Beanie Boos to adopt at the end!  There were 8 of us there in all (Bella, Brynn, Carrie, Gabe, Ella, Madelyn, Cami, and me) and all but Gabe and Cami spent the night.  We were a little rambunctious at night, but finally went to sleep after Mom sat on the couch waiting for us to be quiet at 9:30.  Not too bad, but we were all up at 5 AM!  Mommy was much nicer at 7 AM after the sun came up!
