9 Years, 2 Months...So many activities and opportunities!!!

I am such a busy girl, and I love all of my activities…well, maybe not soccer, but only because I can't do volleyball this session.  I'm doing choir and Girls on the Run and book club.
Not only am I going to EEE summer school, but I found out that I was one of six in our school who was nominated to go to the Fine Arts summer program this summer!  Mom checked, and I am able to do both!
Mom and I went to watch A Wrinkle in Time with Madelyn and her mom.  Then I went to spend the night at Madelyn's.  They took me to church the next morning and I really liked it.  We ended up going there as a family a few weeks later to check it out.  It is the same church Ali went to, and where Lizzy's celebration of life was.
We have had a lot of fun activities at school too.  My class went on a field trip to Runge Nature Center and we had a blast.  I loved walking around the grounds.  Gabe tricked me and had me go into a room with a spider because he knew how much I hate those things!  We had Spring into Reading and I went around with Iris after we had our recorder concert.  We performed two different songs.
The day before spring break, I lost my 10th tooth (a top molar on the left!)  As much as I love school, I really enjoyed having a break to relax a little.  Of course we kept ourselves busy that week.  We ran several errands, went to Bonkers, and Ella spent the night. When we took Emily to her 4 year check up,  we found out that I weigh 73.8 pounds and am 57 inches tall.  Because I am over 8 and am 4'9, I got out of my car seat!  I was so excited to be free and feel older!  I also got a new bike since I outgrew my old one.  Papa Rick, Nana Peggy, Uncle David, and Jordan came to visit us.  We spent a lot of time playing at Aunt Lisa's, and we went out to lunch with them.
We went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's for Easter.  I had a blast playing with Hadley.  We got to have a scavenger hunt at our house on Easter morning since we were home.  Emily and I had to work together, but I would have rather done it all by myself.  After that, we went to Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's for breakfast and an Easter egg hunt, and then back to Lisa's for dinner.  It was such a great week!
After spring break, we were supposed to start soccer practice but the first one was too cold so it was cancelled.  Before every practice and our first game, I ask if I have to go.  I just would really rather play volleyball.  The weather has been unseasonably cold this spring so it isn't a lot of fun being outside.
I went to Cami's birthday party at a rock climbing place.  I was never one to climb when I was little, but I kind of was converted.  I enjoyed challenging myself and had a blast!
I got my expander out this month, and next week, I get my braces off!  Although it seems like a long time, it really did go by fast.
I won a lunch date with Mrs. Mantle at Spring into Reading.  She said I could pick food from several different places, but I kept telling her that I could just bring food from home.  That is, until she mentioned milkshake!  What a great day!
Mom took me down to the Lake for a shopping trip on Sunday after we checked out Madelyn's church.  It was so nice to spend some one-on-one time with her and joke around.  I got a lot of new clothes and Crocs too.
I still really love reading.  I finished A Series of Unfortunate Events last month, and this month I finished the first series of Percy Jackson and I only have one book left in the second series.

Next year, we are getting a new school and we will double in the number of students.  We had an early out one day and the staff got to go over to see our new school.  This is one of the perks of having your mom work at your school-I got to go visit and meet some of the new teachers!  That place is huge, and it is really exciting.  I am going to miss our little school though.

9 Years, 1 Month...Highs and lows

More to come...

The day after my birthday was a day of party prep since it was a day off school!  Mommy and I went shopping and I was really excited to make the "confession stand" (concession stand) for my party food.  I helped make the cupcakes and turn them into volleyballs and Rudolphs!  The Moenkhoffs came over later that day and I had a blast playing with Ashley and Ian.  They spent the night so they could be here for my 9th and Emily's 4th birthday party.  It was so great having so many family members here to celebrate.
The next day was my friend volleyball birthday party.  I had such a blast!  Gabe, Madelyn, Ella, Iris, Cami, Samantha, Carrie, and Brynn were all there.  I was definitely in my element.  And then the biggest surprise of all…Mommy arranged for Ali Kreklow to be there!  I absolutely could not believe it and had a smile on my face the whole time.  She played volleyball with me and my friends, stayed for the volleyball cupcakes, and even brought a special gift.  She framed two pictures of us, and gave me some stationery and stamps so we could write back and forth.  Then, Gabe got to come home with us for a few hours to hang out.  Best birthday ever!
The downside was that night.  I was up really late crying because I was so sad I wouldn't see Ali again.  She promised me I would, and she is helping coach the volleyball camp this summer again!  I am already signed up and can't wait!  Good thing we didn't have school the next day.  We did our birthday pictures and went to Applebee's.  I ended up throwing up in bed that night around 2AM.  (I later found out Cami was doing the same thing.)  Mom thought it was because of all the party food, but I ended up with a 99.8 degree temperature the next day and was not feeling well, so we went home at 10:30.  I was mostly better the next day, which was Emily's birthday and Girls on the Run.
We had another late start at school because of the weather.  We had a family movie night and Emily got to pick.  She chose her new My Little Pony movie, and I think I was just as excited as she was to watch it!  I had another volleyball game and then Cami got to spend the night.  That day was so nice that we got to play outside.  Spring is coming!
I had my last volleyball game and served 3 aces!  I would love to play another session, but soccer starts soon.  I'm excited to be able to play year round volleyball next year, as I don't plan to sign up for soccer again.  Ella spent the night and I went to Church with her family two weeks in a row.  I really felt stupid during the first Sunday school class, but seemed to know more of what was going on the second week.  I had a blast with Ella and her family, but felt a little disappointed and jealous when I came home and found out Mommy and Emily played in the snow that morning.
I went to a Girls on the Run cookie decorating event at a sorority house and met up with Madelyn.  I really enjoyed talking with all the college girls and hammed it up when I had to switch tables and ended up being the only little one there.  I loved the attention they gave me and I made a tower of 9 cookies!  I can't help it the girl kept going back to get more for me!
We are working really hard in choir for our upcoming concert (Rock in the 50s).  I get to play a grandma and Gabe is a grandpa and Mrs. Renwick said we are hilarious!  I really enjoy the choreography and the music.
The hardest part of the month was when we found out that our 5th grade student Lizzie died after her 16 month long battle with cancer.  She was so loved and even though I don't really remember her, I loved her.  I donated my hair in her honor.  She was such a strong girl and I pray for her family.
