10 Years, 2 Months...So many activities!!!

I started off this month with the Cardinal Carnival.  Mom had to work the whole time, so I went around with Dad and Emily, and then ditched them for my friends!  As usual, it was a lot of fun!
I had Keri spend the night one night for the first time.  I also had Lila come over and we went to an event that was way too young for us at Barnes and Noble, so we hung out at the mall for a few hours before going home.  We had a sleepover that night.  We had so much fun she came over for another sleepover later that week so we could play Harry Potter.  (I'm still obsessed and was even caught talking in a British accent in the shower one night!)  The next day, I went to Lucielle's birthday party at Sky Zone.  I got to go to Cami's swimming birthday party at the ARC later in the month.  It's funny, because she is the only 5th grader at my parties and I am the only 4th grader at hers.  I felt a little out of place, but I had fun.  Auntie Heather, Uncle Sean, Ashley, and Ian came for a visit and even spent the night!  We went out to Shakespeare's the next day.  Our family celebrated Jacob's birthday.
Mom took Emily and me to St. Louis and Washington at the end of spring break.  We took Papa Ron out to lunch at McAlister's for his birthday meal and then headed to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's to spend the night.  We played Old Maid, Uno, hid toys for each other to find, and then decided to go shopping!  I'm pretty sure we wore Grandma out!  I know we were tired!  We went to Church with Papa Ron and then went to his 70th birthday party.  We had a blast dancing and didn't go to bed until after midnight!  We ate breakfast at Bob Evans' the next morning and then headed home.
I was able to finish up this round of volleyball clinic and will start another one in May.  On the last practice, I told Mom "I like when you come and watch."  I'm pretty sure I saw a tear in her eye!
I was selected for CREdX, and have been having a great time helping to plan the event.  I was so excited that I thanked Mr. Villasana for this opportunity.  Lila and I presented (well, Lila spoke) at the FTO meeting to obtain a grant for the project, and they supported giving us $500!  I have also been busy with student council and Girls on the Run and piano.  Mrs. Renwick said that my natural ability has gotten me about as far as it can and I was going to need to step up the practicing.  I did, and she could really tell!
We had our Summer Camp choir performance.  It was very exciting to get on stage and we had a lot of fun.  Unfortunately, the microphones didn't work all that great and the audience missed a lot of our lines and jokes.  We will be performing the National Anthem at the Cardinals' game on Easter.  I am so excited!  I also found out that I was asked to try out for the 5th grade honor's choir.  I'm so excited for this opportunity as well!
I have spent a lot of time with Mom this month, either with her taking me to my activities or me doing errands with her.  She did a "camp out" on the floor with Emily and me one night over spring break.  She also took me to get Chipotle and a EEE event and we watched The Sandlot.  It was a pretty funny movie, but I was shocked by the cussing and embarrassed by the part with Wendy Peffercorn.
I have been attending Emily's soccer games as well.  It has been nice to not play and just enjoy visiting.  After one game that Papa Ron attended, he took me out for a "date" to McDonald's all by myself!  Later that night, Papa Rick came into town.  We were able to celebrate Easter with him, and I got a ton of Harry Potter stuff-books, earrings, and sheets!  We had a BBQ at our house with Aunt Lisa and her family here later that night.  Corinne and I had a blast again!
I lost three teeth this month, and finally found out the truth about the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny.  I knew it for a long time, but Mom and Dad were holding out on me.  I was giddy with excitement when I found out, and I still got something from the "Tooth Fairy!"
My favorite thing to do-volleyball!

10 Years, 1 Month...Keeping busy!

I got to celebrate Bella's birthday party at Flipz.  It is strange having separate parties when we did them together for so many years! We also went out to Burger King for Emily's birthday.  Not my favorite, but I managed.
I had my orthodontist check up.  It appears that everything is staying put, so we will just keep monitoring and see where we are after my other permanent teeth come in.  Dr. Francis said I have several teeth ready to come out and he was happy to help get them out, but I decided I would rather not and just do it myself.
I have been really busy with Choir and piano lessons and Girls on the Run and volleyball.  I love all of my activities!  I also found out that I was one of 9 4th graders selected to help put on a TED talk at our school.  I'm so excited to get started!  I also got into EEE summer school and the Fine Arts program again!
I have the part of "Carol" in our musical called Summer Camp, opposite "Bob" and we are announcers at a parade.  I tried on mom's business suit that she got her first job in.  That is so tacky!  I am also a camper in the musical.  I have been doing really well in volleyball too.  I had two coaches approach me at the end of one practice and ask if I would be willing to join the older group the next time because they thought I was ready for it.  I just really love playing, and get nervous to think about being around older girls I don't know.
We had what it appears to be the last snow day of the school year.  I am really liking those days off and am getting used to them!  I like school, but I am also quite a bit of a home body.  I have also spent some time home alone for just a couple of hours.  I am feeling more comfortable doing that and even ask to do it sometimes!
I had a great report at my parent teacher conference!  Miss Geha even said that I made growth in an area in reading.  Even though I am reading at a high level, she was able to determine an area where I could grow and she helped me do it!  She also said I am doing great socially and I am very helpful in class.  We are working hard on learning about the Oregon Trail in school and have started a Minecraft project to demonstrate our knowledge.  I am in a new Cardinal Class, where we are designing cartoons.  I'm not crazy about it because I don't think I am very good at drawing.
Mom has worked a lot of hours at school lately, so I spend a lot of time entertaining myself.  I usually make the most of it by watching videos or reading or finding another teacher kid to hang out with, but one day I think it was just too much for me.  I really wanted to go to the Book Fair and it was about closed when mom was still in a couple of conferences that she was called into last minute.  I just started panicking and feeling sad.  I know she needs to work, but it is hard sometimes.
After all those meetings, she did get a day off and we spent some of it together (minus the 2 meetings she had to take me to!)  I usually make up for it by having a friend over of course.  Ella spent the night one night, and Madelyn spent the night another weekend.  I went over to Ella's to hang out another afternoon.
We had a spirit week at school, and I just don't like putting myself out there like that.  On Mix Match day, I wore two different socks.  That's about as crazy as I get.  Mom just embarrasses me with her outfits!  I wore a hat for part of the day on hat day, and a volleyball shirt like every other day on sports team day.  There was no way I was going to participate in PJ day!  This week ended with our school carnival.  I had a lot of fun hanging out with my friends.
My newest obsession is Harry Potter!  I have read the entire series (over 3400 pages!) in about 2 months.  I'm now rereading it.  I just can't get enough!  I went to a magic arts event in town and won a book and got to make my own wand.
