6 Years, 1 month...Birthday celebrations and more!

Oh my goodness!  My birthday was amazing!  Best day ever!  It started with donuts from HyVee and my presents from Mommy and Daddy.  My big gift was a horse stable.  Mommy almost returned it because she didn't think I would like it, but she did the right thing by keeping it.  I love it!  Nana Arden and Papa Rodney surprised me by coming over to sing Happy Birthday to me, and I got a lot of phone calls!  We had my joint birthday party with Bella at Bonkers.  I normally don't like to climb, but I went all the way to the top!  It was so much fun having my preschool friends and my kindergarten friends together.  Bella and I collected supplies for the animals at the Humane Society.  After our party, we went to Maddie's birthday party at the MAC and went swimming and had a bounce house.  (If we had known, we could have combined all three of our birthdays!)  I had a blast swimming and bouncing with my friends.  The icing on the cake for my birthday was that it snowed that night and we had a snow day the next day!  (We were off school anyway, but Daddy had off too!)  Bella came over to go sledding and then we dropped off all our donations at the animal shelter.  I fell in love with a dog named Ignatius there and got really sad when people came in to look at the dogs.  I was afraid they would adopt him!  It's so hard to be patient about getting a dog and cat!
I had my 6 year check-up with Dr. Prica.  I am now 48 inches tall (that right-4 feet!) and 49.6 pounds.  He said I was very healthy and I only need to come for check-ups every three years now.  Plus, I won't have to get any shots until I go to middle school!
I got to celebrate my birthday at school when we went back after the snow.  Mommy and Emily came with McDonald's for lunch, and I brought rainbow sherbet for snack.  I also got to pick a birthday bear to sit with me in class.  Later that week, I found out that I won a Leadership Award at school and got to go up on stage.  Mommy, Daddy, and Emily came to watch.  I was nervous and excited!
The next weekend, we had to postpone Emily and my birthday party by one day because of ice.  That party was a lot of fun too.  I was really proud that I helped plan the menu to be Frozen-themed (Anna and Hans' sandwiches; frozen hearts-strawberries and dip; Do you want to build a snowman-marshmallows, chocolate chips, candy corn, pretzel sticks; Sven snacks-carrots; snowflakes-popcorn; Elsa's ice crystals-blue cool whip cookies; Kristoff's ice-blue Jello jigglers; coronation cake; Anna's punch-blue Hawaiian punch and lemonade.)  I really enjoyed having my family here.
I had my parent-teacher conference this month too.  I was really nervous that I would be asked to read my writing and not be able to.  I did great though!  Mrs. Sicht said that I am advanced in writing and already reached the kindergarten goal for reading level.  I earned a check plus in effort in all areas too.  The one thing I need to work on is to not do things for other people.  I need to ask them if they need help first.  That is hard for me because I like to help!
I had a huge surprise on a day off school after conferences.  Mommy took me to Washington at night because Grandma Kathy got us tickets to Disney Frozen on Ice for the next day!  It was awesome!  We had trouble finding parking, so Mommy dropped Grandma Kathy and me off.  I was also up really late the night before and was pretty overwhelmed when we got there, so I was pretty quiet the whole time.  I loved seeing Anna and Elsa.  Let It Go was my favorite part.  I also got a new Disney horse for my stable and a Frozen mug and spoon/straw.  It was such a nice time, just the three of us.
I had Girl Scouts a couple of times this month, and I got to read to dogs at the library again.  There were a couple of late starts, and one morning I got to go to HyVee and help in the workroom.  We went to Hobby Lobby to get dog fabric to cover my new cork board for my room, and to McDonald's for another McTeacher Night.  Mommy had curriculum writing again and Daddy picked me up the first day, but the next day was Grandparents Day at school.  Nana Arden and Grandma Kathy got to come.  Our class worked really hard to learn some songs and poems to sing to our grandparents.  We went to McDonald's and Nana Arden's house afterward before coming home.  What a special day! Nana Arden came over to watch me and Emily on Mommy and Daddy's anniversary while they went on a date.
The weather is finally starting to get nice, so we have been spending more time outside.  We were finally able to take my 6 year and Emily's 1 year pictures at Shelter Gardens.  I can't wait to see them!  We have done sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and played Mother May I?, Red Light, Green Light, and Follow the Leader.  I even started riding my bike this afternoon.  I am already too big for it and need a new one!  I got my soccer clothes this past weekend too.  I can't wait to spend more time outside!
